ABOUT OUR CRAFT BEERS
Some of our most arduous research centred around which craft beer to highlight in our restaurant. We knew we wanted to stay in BC, but there were just soooo many choices. Finally, the love of good beer combined with the Triebel family’s love for downhill skiing brought us to the Fernie Brewing Company.
Located in the mining, mountain town of Fernie BC, this brewery was established in 2003 operating from the Pask family barn. By 2007, FBC had outgrown its space and expanded to a new state of the art facility. They brew according to strict standards using only 2-row premium barley malt and European hops. We are proud to serve their beer in our restaurant and showcase FBC in Dawson Creek.
Project 9 Pils: 2014 Silver award, Calgary Beer Fest. A true Bavarian Pils brewed in the Munich tradition. A crisp, light tasting beer that pairs with spicy foods and most cheeses
Big Caboose Red Ale: 2012 BC brewing award gold medal. A lightly hopped, slightly sweet, easy drinking red ale, that is perfect with a burger or pulled pork.
First Trax Brown Ale: Brewed with 8 specialty malts, resulting in a nutty, slightly chocolatey brew. 2013 Alberta Beverage Awards, Judges choice. Pairs well with all beef entrees.
Newcastle Brown Ale: Launched in 1927 by Colonel Jim Porter, Newcastle is known as the ‘working man’s ale” and has long been the favourite in the industrial North East area of the UK., gaining ground more recently in North America.
All beers were carefully chosen to complement our extensive menu. Cheers!!
